Sexual Violence Knows No Age Boundaries: Ir. Zamzami, ST. M. Eng.
Lhokseumawe - Lhokseumawe State Polytechnic (PNL) held a Socialization on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) Based on Permendikbudristek No 30 of 2021 and the Existence of the PNL PPKS Task Force on Friday, (11/11/2022) in the Hall, Floor III of the Main Building.
In his remarks, Vice Director I for Academic, Student, and Alumni Affairs, Ir. Zamzami, ST. M.Eng said that PPKS was expected to be formed as an effort to prevent sexual violence from occurring on campus.
"From the start, in the form of Permendikbudristek No. 30 of 2021, there have been many pros and cons, but we have continued to follow and form the PPKS Selection Committee (Pansel) since January, and as of September, we already have the PPKS PNL Task Force," he said
Zamzami further said that sexual violence knows no age and the victim, not only women, can also be men.
"By holding PPKS socialization, we must protect ourselves to avoid unwanted events, and we must limit interactions with the opposite sex, especially those who are not our muhrim," hoped Zamzami
Previously the Head of the PPKS Task Force, Novi Quintena Rahayu, SH. MH said that with the formation of the PPKS Task Force, they are ready to fight cases of sexual violence within the PNL.
"Basically, it is our shared responsibility to eradicate sexual violence within the PNL environment, and Alhamdulillah, until now, the PNL is still safe from sexual violence," he explained.
"We are ready to take on the responsibility given to us as the PPKS PNL Task Force," said Novi Quintena, the Secretary of the Department of Electrical Engineering.
In their statement, the Implementation Committee for Socialization of the PPKS Task Force Siti Aminah, SE., M.S.M said that this activity was funded from the 2022 Budget PNL DIPA funds.
The number of participants was 170 people, of which the leadership invited 80 people, staff, lecturers, and educational staff, as well as 90 student representatives from various majors.
