JTM-PNL Held Public Lecture, and Two Resource Persons from Industry, were presented

Lhokseumawe - Department of Mechanical Engineering Lhokseumawe State Polytechnic (JTM-PNL) held the Public Lecture with the theme, "Opportunities and Challenges for Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Department in the Field of Maintenance and Inspection" on Thursday (29/09/2022).

 

The speakers who were presented at the event were Ali Mulyagusdin, SE, MBA, AK, CA who is the President and Director of PT. Aceh Development and Ir. Ferdiyansyah, ST, M.Sc, IWIP, IWE Vice President Inspection Department of PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda.

 

The activity, which was held in the 3rd Floor Hall of PNL was opened by the director of PNL, Ir. Rizal Syahyadi, M.Eng, S.c, and attended by the Vice Director for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems, Ir. Sariyusda, MT and the Coordinator of Public Relations and PNL Cooperation, Ir. Muhammad Hatta, SST, MT.

In his speech, the Director stated that PNL is required to prepare competent graduates.

 

"We must prepare graduates who can think for complex problem solving, as well as equip students with certain soft skills and competencies," said Rizal Syahyadi.

 

Previously, the Chief of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Indra Mawardi, ST, MT, stated in his report that public lecture moments like this could be used optimally for academic purposes such as adjusting the curriculum of study programs, upgrading study programs, and other relevant activities.

 

The event lasted two sessions and was attended by hundreds of JTM students and lecturers. The first session was occupied by resource persons from PT PEMA, who discussed the existence of PEMA and the activities carried out.

The presenter emphasized the importance of vocational education graduates changing their mindset, catching up, and being able to fill job opportunities in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0.

 

In the second session filled by a speaker from PT PIM, he explained cases of maintenance and inspection in the Petrochemical Industry.

 

The presenters also conveyed skills in great demand today, including complex problem-solving, social skills, process skills, system skills, and cognitive abilities.

 

The information conveyed by the Chairperson of JTM Hamdani, S.ST., MT, that the event was very attractive was marked by the large number of participants who asked questions in the question and answer session.

 "The participants were very enthusiastic, and there were many questions and answers to the speakers," Hamdani said. "I also thank the director, deputy directors, chief executive, and all parties who contributed to the success of the 2022 JTM public lecture."
