PNL Successfully Held International Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur – The 5th International Conference on Science and Innovated Engineering (ICOSINE-5) was held successfully by Lhokseumawe State Polytechnic (PNL) and the Optical Society of Malaysia (OSM) with the theme "Role of Innovated Engineering and Advanced Technology in Establishing Capacity and Ensuring Sustainable Future." Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Furama Hotel in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

PNL previously held international conferences on technological innovation and science for the first time in Sabang in 2018, ICOSINE-2 in Malacca, Malaysia, and ICOSINE-3 and ICOSINE-4 online.

ICOSINE-5 was inaugurated by PNL Director Ir. Rizal Syahyadi, ST. M.Eng.Sc, and was attended by speakers from Indonesia and abroad, including China, Malaysia, Thailand, and Iran.

PNL Director Ir. Rizal Syahyadi, ST. M.Eng.Sc, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the committee for making ICOSINE-5 successful. The man who graduated from the University of Malaya also said that every year the theme raised by the committee always follows current global trends and developments.

"I hope that the results of ICOSINE can contribute and educate both campus scholars and the general public," he hoped.

The man, who is usually called Didi, added that this ICOSINE activity could continue in the capacity of increasing research and publication of research results at the international level, especially in terms of journal citations by lecturers within PNL.

"We welcome the implementation of this conference and hope that participants can take advantage of this scientific forum not only to stay in touch but to discuss various issues in the field of research and service," said Didi.

Dr. Nelly Safitri, M.Eng, Chair of the ICOSINE-5 Committee, said the theme was related to technology and science to support renewable energy for energy sustainability in the future.

"At this conference, researchers, scientists, and scientific observers from various universities and institutions share their knowledge and experiences on the themes prepared by the committee," he explained.

According to Nelly, PNL is collaborating with the Optical Society of Malaysia (OSM), a neighboring country organization that actively manages research activities, seminars, innovation, advertisements, and publications in photonics.

"PNL will publish articles through the Akademia Baru Publishing Journal, Malaysia, which has produced quality Scopus-indexed journals in the past," he explained.

The Curtin University of Technology Western, Australia alumnus, added that this year's ICOSINE presented keynote speakers from within the country and abroad, including Prof. Dr. Sulaiman Wadi Harun from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Associate Professor Farhad Shahnia from Murdoch University, Perth Westwern Australia, Prof. Zuchra Helwani, ST. MT. Ph.D. from the University of Riau, Indonesia and Prof. Shyh - Chour from the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, Kaoh Siung, Taiwan.

On the occasion of this conference, PNL Deputy Director for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems Ir. Sariyusda, MT, accompanied by Public Relations and Cooperation Coordinator Ir. Muhammad Hatta, SST. MT is also exploring cooperation with several universities in Malaysia and Australia. Among them are Murdoch University, Perth Western Australia, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia (UTeM) in Malacca, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Shah Alam, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM).
